We design, fabricate, and erect structures in the Northeast and in other parts of the country. We have 2 fabrication facilities, 4 erection operations facilities, and 6 office locations that provide engineering and management of projects. We are a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP) with a desire for growth. We service the private commercial, public, institutional, and industrial markets. About the role We are looking for a Quality Assurance Field Inspector to join our team based in our Kensington, CT office that will be responsible for traveling to job sites in the CT, NY, and MA areas. The person who fills this role will be responsible to ensure that the quality of work performed by employees and sub-let erectors and fabricators meets or exceeds organization standards. What you'll do This role is responsible to: Provide surveillance for projects in progress following appropriate QA/QC standards. Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, documenting and communicating errors or problems. Assist and/or provide solutions to our team for identified errors or problems. Provide surveillance for sub-let fabricators and sub-let erectors. Qualifications Applicants should have three to five years working in a quality role with a focus on structural steel, and should be well versed in
AISC 360
standards. Must currently hold a CWI certification or have the ability to obtain one within 1 year is required. Non-Destructive testing experience in Ultrasonic and Magnetic Particle Testing in an ASNT-TC-1a level II capacity preferred. The position will be based out of our CT office. Applicants must be willing/able to travel to visit job sites from New York to Massachusetts as well as company and outsourced fabrication facilities. Applicants must have the ability to physically negotiate work areas under construction in a safe manner. Must possess good communication (verbal and writing) skills as well as the ability to negotiate and problem solve.
