Mazzotta is recruiting for a hands-on Quality Inspector / Quality Technician with strong manufacturing quality experience. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, working directly with machinists and production teams, and using their technical knowledge to identify problems and improve processes. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in blueprint reading, GD&T, dimensional inspection and metrology, along with the ability to investigate quality issues and work collaboratively toward practical solutions. What You'll Do Perform in-process, final and receiving inspections in a manufacturing environment Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T Use precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges and related metrology tools Support machinists and production teams with day-to-day quality questions and inspection needs Investigate nonconformances and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions Use problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa and similar tools Complete and maintain NCRs, CAPA documentation and quality records Work with routers, BOMs, work instructions and other process documentation Assist with process and quality improvement initiatives Apply knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA and process capability concepts such as Cp/Cpk Support supplier quality activities and incoming inspection Help maintain accurate inspection and process documentation Contribute to a quality-focused, organized and continuously improving manufacturing environment
What We're Looking For Required:
Hands-on quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills Practical experience with dimensional inspection and metrology equipment Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges and related measuring tools Understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to work effectively with machinists and production personnel Experience with NCRs, CAPA and root cause analysis Knowledge of ISO 9001 or a similar quality management system Experience working with routers, process documentation and manufacturing records Strong organizational and documentation skills Strong Plus Experience with any of the following is highly valued: Aerospace manufacturing CNC machining environments CMM operation or programming First Article Inspection (FAI) MRB and supplier corrective action Supplier quality SolidWorks or other CAD systems Calibration systems Internal quality audits Advanced process improvement and quality engineering practices Education & Experience A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Quality Engineering is a plus. An Associate degree, technical education or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience will also be considered. The most important factor is practical experience. We're looking for someone who understands manufacturing, is technically curious, stays organized, and is comfortable getting onto the shop floor to work through quality issues with experienced production and machining teams. This is a role with growth potential for someone who wants to expand their skills and take on greater responsibility within manufacturing quality.
