JOB DESCRIPTION

Quality Reports to:
Quality Manager Basic Purpose :
Utilizes engineering drawings and specifications, and appropriate measurement tools to inspect parts, products and processes to ensure conformance to standards. Inspects materials and products using fixed or variable gages and performs visual checks for irregularities and defects. Verifies and records dimensions and characteristics to determine compliance with approved tolerances and other customer requirements.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Performs inspection audits on parts and assemblies for in-process, final, and First Article verification. 2. Report and coordinate findings with quality and production personnel to facilitate quality goals. 3. Performs basic verification of gages to standards. 4. Prepares certification documents for product shipments and may review supplier certifications. 5. Performs other related duties as assigned. 6. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications applicable to assigned duties. 7. Knowledge of product acceptance standards, assigned gages, and workmanship standards for the product assigned. 8. Demonstrated ability to use knowledge and communicate with production operators to provide useful feedback on inspection results. 9. Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs. 10. Work in standing position for entire work shift, frequent walking and carrying.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
1. This position may be responsible for performing lab tests to determine product performance characteristics for product development, process validation and quality control 2. Maybe required to receive supplier product into inventory and perform incoming inspections 3. May operate lab equipment such as, pressure tests, DSC, volumetric expansion and microscope product defect analysis and Clemex cleanliness system. To include providing training on all lab equipment. Personal Characteristics 1. Team player that can motivate team members to achieve goals 2. Be a fast learner that can take direction and run with minimum learning curve 3. Have a "can do" positive attitude 4. Be dependable, accurate and concise when presenting 5. Have excellent communication skills 6. Must be a self starter and work with little input from management 7. May require overtime and weekend work
Minimum Competencies Required:
1. High School Diploma/GED 2. Good organizational, time management and communication skills 3. Ability to function with minimal supervision
