We are seeking an experienced Packaging Technician / Quality Control Specialist to join our manufacturing team in Washington, DC . The focus of this position is the production and packaging of ready-to-sell cannabis products. Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, this role is responsible for performing production, packaging, and quality-control duties related to cannabis goods and products. This position is not limited to the duties listed below, and the employee may be asked to perform other related duties as requested or assigned. This is a great opportunity for entry-level candidates exploring a career in cannabis manufacturing and production. The position provides an opportunity to develop practical knowledge and hands-on skills within the cannabis industry. Responsibilities Primarily responsible for packaging tasks as needed for all products. Participate daily on the packaging assembly line alongside other members of the team. Perform quality checks on cannabis goods to determine whether products are ready for sale. Document each step of the production and packaging process using required packaging records. Review quality-control-approved batches before packaging to ensure they have been properly checked and released. Inspect failed cartridges to determine whether they are unable to pass quality-control requirements and document quantities of failed cartridges. Verify product labeling, batch information, and required documentation after labeling and packaging. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and proper sanitation of the packaging area. Follow company procedures, quality standards, and applicable Washington, DC cannabis regulations. Assist other areas of the operation when needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age or older. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar software. At least 1 year of experience working in a team-oriented environment. Manufacturing or laboratory experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and managers. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to assist in other areas of the operation as needed. Well organized, self-motivated, honest, trustworthy, and articulate. Strong sense of brand integrity and exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently when required and demonstrate strong follow-through. Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate production and quality-control records. Physical Requirements Light to moderate lifting of approximately 25-50 lbs.; heavier weights may be handled with assistance. Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods. Ability to perform repetitive motions. Ability to work at a fast pace while managing frequent interruptions and physical and mental demands. Ability to maintain inventory records for supplies, materials, and equipment and prepare requisitions as needed. Ability to work safely and effectively in a production and packaging environment.
