Full Job Description Materials Technician Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Materials Lab Technician to join our materials lab team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation, testing, and analysis of materials to support research and development projects. This role is essential in ensuring that materials meet quality standards and specifications for various applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare samples and conduct tests on materials to evaluate their physical and chemical properties. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly. Record and analyze test data, preparing reports that summarize findings and recommendations. Collaborate with engineers and scientists to support ongoing research and development projects. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment. Participate in quality control processes to ensure materials meet industry standards. Assist in inventory management of materials and laboratory supplies.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in materials testing or analysis. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing methods (e.g., polishing, hardness testing, microscopy). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a laboratory environment.
