Job Title:

Quality Compliance Specialist / Lead Internal Auditor (AS9100) Job Description This role leads the internal AS9100 Quality Management System auditing program within an aerospace and aviation manufacturing environment. You will own internal audits, corrective actions, root cause investigations, and quality metrics, while also preparing the organization for customer and thirdparty audits. The position is hands-on and highly visible, requiring regular interaction with production, engineering, suppliers, and leadership to ensure processes, products, documentation, and operations consistently meet stringent aerospace quality and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Serve as the Lead Internal Auditor for the AS9100 Quality Management System and act as a primary subject matter expert for QMS compliance. Develop, maintain, and manage the annual internal audit schedule to ensure comprehensive coverage of all required processes and systems. Plan, conduct, document, and follow up on QMS/system audits, process audits, product audits, and repair and overhaul audits. Identify deficiencies during audits, document detailed audit findings, and track them through to closure. Prepare clear and concise audit summaries and reports for monthly Quality Reviews and annual Management Reviews. Support ongoing QMS documentation activities, including change control, to ensure procedures and records remain current and compliant. Own corrective actions from initial finding through verified effectiveness and formal closure, ensuring timely and thorough resolution. Facilitate cross-functional root cause investigations with production, engineering, suppliers, and other departments. Apply structured problem-solving tools to analyze issues and develop robust corrective and preventive actions. Drive corrective and preventive actions resulting from trends, nonconformances, audit findings, and systemic quality issues. Prepare formal written responses to customer Nonconformance Notices and external audit findings in a professional and timely manner. Collect, analyze, trend, and report quality performance data, including nonconformance (NCR) rates, corrective action cycle times, and audit finding trends. Develop and present the monthly quality performance report for leadership, highlighting key metrics, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Identify negative trends or systemic quality issues and initiate targeted improvement actions to enhance process capability and product quality. Serve as a primary Quality contact during customer audits and surveillance visits, representing the organization professionally. Coordinate third-party AS9100 and FAA surveillance and re-certification audits, including planning, logistics, and follow-up actions. Prepare the facility, documentation, and personnel for external audits to ensure readiness and consistent audit performance. Work directly with OEM customers as needed to address technical quality questions, nonconformances, and audit-related issues. Coordinate with engineering subject matter experts, suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve complex technical quality issues. Spend time on the production floor reviewing processes, products, and documentation to verify compliance with QMS and customer requirements. Essential Skills AS9100 Internal Auditor certification. Minimum of 3+ years of quality assurance or applicable manufacturing quality experience. Demonstrated experience conducting internal AS9100 and Quality Management System audits. Working knowledge of AS9100 and

ISO 9001

standards and their application in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on corrective action and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) experience. Proven root cause analysis experience using structured problem-solving methods. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately. Strong written documentation skills for audit reports, nonconformance responses, and quality records. Ability to communicate audit findings and quality issues professionally to all levels of the organization and to customers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for data analysis, reporting, and presentations. Exposure to QMS and/or ERP systems in a manufacturing or aerospace environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications AS9100 Lead Auditor certification is strongly preferred. Experience in aviation or aerospace manufacturing environments. Exposure to FAA regulatory requirements and related compliance activities. Familiarity with Boeing customer requirements and flow-down quality requirements. Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). Experience developing or maintaining control plans. Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and related quality tools. First Article Inspection experience, including documentation and reporting. Experience with QT9 or similar electronic QMS platforms. Prior experience supporting customer or third-party audits. Bachelors degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
