This position will ensure that Curtain Wall units are manufactured and assembled in accordance with approved shop drawings, project specifications, established quality standards, and customer requirements. The QA/QC Specialist will work closely with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Field Installation teams to identify potential quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure products are consistently delivered in compliance with project requirements. Required Qualifications 3-5 years of relevant QA/QC experience preferred; additional experience will be considered, with experience preferably within the Curtain Wall, glazing, aluminum, or architectural metals industry. Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Experience reading and interpreting shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify, document, and track non-conforming conditions. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Field Installation teams. Key Responsibilities Quality Control - Production & Assembly Perform inspections throughout the Curtain Wall manufacturing and assembly process. Verify that materials, components, dimensions, finishes, hardware, gaskets, glass, and accessories comply with approved shop drawings and project specifications. Inspect completed Curtain Wall units prior to release for shipment. Verify critical dimensions, tolerances, alignment, squareness, frame assembly, glass installation, gaskets, sealants, setting blocks, fasteners, and other critical components. Ensure units are assembled according to the latest approved shop drawings and revisions. Identify non-conforming conditions and prevent defective units from moving to the next production stage. Verify required inspections are completed and properly documented before units are released. Perform random and scheduled inspections throughout the production process. Quality Assurance Develop and maintain QA/QC inspection procedures and checklists for Curtain Wall production. Establish inspection points and quality requirements for each major production and assembly operation. Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and documentation required by the project. Ensure traceability of units, materials, inspections, and corrective actions. Support the implementation of standardized quality procedures across Curtain Wall production lines. Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions Identify, document, and track non-conforming materials, components, and assemblies. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required. Work with Production and Engineering to determine the root cause of quality issues. Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Verify corrective actions have been properly implemented before closing quality issues. Monitor recurring defects and recommend process improvements to prevent recurrence. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily and weekly QA/QC inspection records. Prepare quality reports for management and project teams. Maintain inspection checklists and sign-off documentation. Document defects with photographs, measurements, descriptions, and applicable drawing references. Maintain records of approved shop drawings, revisions, inspection results, and corrective actions. Support documentation required for third-party QA/QC inspections and customer inspections. Ensure all quality documentation is organized and readily available for project audits. Coordination with Project Teams Work closely with Production Supervisors, Project Managers, Engineers, and Shop Drawing teams. Review project-specific quality requirements before production begins. Participate in pre-production and pre-assembly meetings when required. Communicate quality concerns immediately to the appropriate department. Coordinate with third-party inspectors and customer representatives during plant inspections. Support customer and project team visits to the manufacturing facility. Curtain Wall Specific Quality Requirements The QA/QC Specialist should be familiar with, or capable of learning, the following Curtain Wall quality requirements: Curtain Wall framing systems and components. Mullions, horizontals, pressure plates, covers, and related components. Glass installation and glazing procedures. Setting blocks and glass positioning. Gaskets and seals. Structural and weather sealants. Fasteners and mechanical connections. Frame dimensions and tolerances. Squareness, alignment, and overall unit geometry.
