POSITION OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician supports new product formulation and development trials while performing routine quality assurance and quality control activities at Goldflower's Mount Dora facility. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, this role prepares and documents formulations and trials, coordinates samples, and supports environmental monitoring. A scientific foundation, sound calculations, careful documentation, and curiosity about product development are especially important; training will be provided on Goldflower-specific QA/QC procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with developing and optimizing new product formulations, including edibles, tinctures, concentrates, and other cannabis products. Prepare small-scale experimental batches by accurately weighing, measuring, and combining ingredients. Assist with executing R&D trials to evaluate new ingredients, formulations, equipment, and manufacturing processes. Prepare R&D samples for internal evaluation and third-party laboratory testing. Assist in monthly GMP/Sanitation Inspections Conduct visual inspections of cannabis products for contaminants and defects. Perform line clearance inspections to ensure production areas are free of previous batch materials and ready for the next production run Daily hygiene and sanitation checks Perform glass and brittle checks and clearances Perform ATP, and other micro swabbing Active member of the HACCP and Food Safety Teams Perform other duties as needed and requested

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant formulation/laboratory experience considered. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and ability to follow written procedures and work cross-functionally.

Preferred:

Hands-on formulation, laboratory, product development, or pilot-trial experience strongly preferred; food, pharmaceutical, or cannabis manufacturing experience a plus. Comfortable with percentages, dilutions, unit conversions, precise weighing, spreadsheets, and structured data recording. GMP or QA/QC experience preferred but not required; training on Goldflower-specific procedures will be provided.
