Quality Manager, Orlando Hästens - 3.3 Orlando, FL Job Details $62,000 - $68,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Summary The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving product quality throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming materials through finished products and customer delivery. This is a hands-on position responsible for inspections, quality documentation, deviation management, customer complaint follow-up, and supporting corrective actions. The Quality Manager will work closely with Production, Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, suppliers, and customers to identify quality issues and develop practical solutions. The position will also provide flexible support for continuous improvement activities, product claims, root-cause investigations, and other operational projects as needed. Key Responsibilities Incoming Material & Production Quality Perform and/or coordinate inspections of incoming materials, components, and purchased products against established specifications and requirements. Conduct in-process and final product inspections to verify compliance with specifications, drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. Identify, document, and communicate material, workmanship, and process defects. Place questionable or nonconforming material/product on hold and coordinate appropriate disposition. Work with Purchasing and suppliers to address incoming material quality issues. Maintain a visible presence on the production floor and provide guidance regarding quality requirements. Deviations, Corrective Actions & Problem Solving Document product and process deviations accurately and promptly. Maintain records of nonconforming materials, work-in-process, and finished products. Track deviations through resolution, including rework, repair, scrap, return-to-vendor, or other approved disposition. Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions. Monitor recurring quality issues and escalate significant or repeated problems to management. Verify that corrective actions are implemented and effective. Customer Complaints & Claims Receive, document, investigate, and track customer quality complaints. Review production records, inspection results, photographs, samples, and other information to support investigations. Coordinate with appropriate departments to determine potential causes and corrective actions. Maintain complete documentation of complaint investigations and resolutions. Assist with product, material, freight, supplier, and customer claims by gathering facts, photographs, records, and other supporting information. Monitor recurring customer complaints and claims for opportunities to improve processes and prevent recurrence. Quality Documentation & Records Maintain accurate, organized, and readily accessible quality records. Complete and maintain incoming, in-process, and final inspection records. Maintain documentation related to deviations, corrective actions, customer complaints, claims, and other quality activities. Assist with maintaining quality forms, procedures, work instructions, inspection criteria, and other controlled documents. Support customer, internal, regulatory, or other quality-related audits and documentation requests. Continuous Improvement & Operational Support Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, scrap, rework, complaints, and process variation. Identify opportunities to improve product quality, manufacturing processes, productivity, and cost. Assist with root-cause analysis and implementation of process improvements. Help establish and monitor measures to determine whether improvements are effective. Support special quality, operational, and improvement projects as assigned. Provide flexible assistance to other departments as deemed necessary by the Site Manager. Authority & Accountability The Quality Manager is expected to: Identify and communicate quality concerns promptly. Prevent known nonconforming material or product from progressing or shipping without appropriate authorization. Escalate significant or recurring quality issues to management. Maintain accurate and timely quality documentation. Follow assigned quality issues through resolution. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a quality control function. Strong attention to detail. Ability to develop or improve processes where none exist. Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems (SAP, Salesforce, etc.). Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
