Job Summary
Take-off with Pilatus! We are seeking a Chief Inspector to support maintenance and quality operations in Sarasota, FL. Responsibility for oversight of regulatory compliance, inspection activities, quality systems, and return-to-service processes in accordance with FAA and EASA regulations. Leadership of quality assurance personnel, audit activities, technical data management, and safety initiatives supporting aircraft maintenance and production operations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Oversight of regulatory compliance, inspection activities, and return-to-service processes in accordance with FAA and EASA regulations
Leadership of quality systems including inspection processes, technical data control, airworthiness determinations, and corrective action activities
Oversight of Safety Management System activities including hazard reporting, risk assessment, safety investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordination of internal audits, external audits, FAA oversight activities, and regulatory inspections
Maintenance and control of quality system documentation, technical records, Airworthiness Directives, service bulletins, and approved engineering documentation
Leadership, training, qualification oversight, and development of Quality Assurance Inspectors and inspection personnel
Monitoring of facility safety practices, tooling condition, environmental compliance, and hazardous material handling requirements
Coordination with maintenance and operational teams to ensure adherence to inspection procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required; Inspection Authorization or eligibility to obtain authorization preferred
Ideal candidate has minimum 3 years of experience in a Chief Inspector or senior quality leadership role within an FAA certified repair station environment
Extensive knowledge of FAA regulations including Parts 21, 23, 39, 43, 65, 91, and 145, along with aviation quality systems and inspection oversight practices
Proficiency with electronic maintenance tracking systems, technical documentation, and standard Microsoft Office applications
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise inspection personnel
High attention to detail, sound technical judgment, and commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives

The salary range is $97,600-$128,990 per year depending on experience. Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
