Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical QA Inspector to support a variety of mechanical-focused projects on a barracks facility at Fort Benning, GA. Candidates non-local willing to travel in weekly within 2 hour radius will be considered. Lodging + per diem provided. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Review contractors' quality management and control procedures for mechanical systems on large military installations and report findings to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • Attend and participate in the Three-Phase Inspection Process.
  • Observe and investigate construction activities involving HVAC, plumbing, piping, mechanical equipment, and related systems to identify deficiencies and report findings to the COR.
  • Evaluate contractor questions and RFIs/RFCs related to mechanical scope and recommend solutions to the COR.
  • Assist the COR in drafting correspondence to contractors explaining deficiencies and required corrective actions.
  • Review contractor records of work completed, testing documentation, equipment installation records, and material usage, and report findings to the COR.
  • Verify mechanical installations comply with project specifications, submittals, applicable codes, and USACE quality standards.

  • 10+ years of construction management, mechanical inspection, or QA/QC experience on US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
  • Strong experience with mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, hydronic systems, mechanical equipment installations, and commissioning activities.
  • Must be familiar with the Three-Phase Inspection Process.
  • Must be CQM or CQM-C certified with RMS familiarity
  • Active Common Access Card (CAC)
