Per Wage Scale Direct reports None Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum products to Honda and Subaru. We are located in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Astemo, Inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.
Tasks and Responsibilities :
This quality assurance position is responsible for: In-process measurement and visual inspection of Aluminum parts and/or Brake Component Parts. The use of gauges, markers, fixtures, jigs, calipers, or any other measuring device to ensure parts meet customer requirements. Periodic audit of current production part conformance to spec. 1st made part confirmation. Dispatch of appropriate personnel to correct out-of-spec condition. Follow PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) strategy. Plan required checks (document running vs NPP lines). Complete Line check for producing lines Check current condition if trouble is detected Dispatch appropriate personnel via L2L or Pink Tag to shut down out-of-spec condition and notify appropriate personnel if condition is approaching out-of-spec condition. Follow work instructions. Scan documents for record retention as directed. Work with others as a team and promote teamwork. Prevent interruptions to workflow and productivity. Suggest improvements to productivity, quality, safety etc. through completion of "Ask Here". When accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.
Safety & Environmental:
Promotes a safety-first attitude and provides safe work environment by obtaining knowledge and then following all required OSHA regulations which may or may not include Personal Protective Equipment, LOTO, Crane, Powered Lifts, Machine Guarding, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Respirator, Hearing conservation, Confined Spaces, and others. Maintain work areas to ensure safe and clean working conditions. When possible correct unsafe work conditions immediately.
Quality :
Ensures the in-process and finished product meets customer and USRS quality specifications. Follows work instructions, point cards and communicates appropriately and immediately when quality issues occur.
Delivery :
Responsible for communication to quality and production management any concerns.
Productivity :
Achieves the planned production quantities as required by: Complete required part checks in a timely manner. Complete periodic off-the line part checking. Complete other tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
Reporting:
Report safety incidents or near misses, issues with equipment or quality concerns, and workflow interruptions.
Preferred Skills:
Hand tools use and measuring tools experience. Good problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships. Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office programs
Minimum Experienced Preferred:
HS Diploma or GED Previous experience in related field 2-5 years of USRS experience
Key Metrics Responsibility:
Zero quality claims Zero late shipments Zero safety incidents Others as required to meet Business Plan objectives.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, to use hand to finger; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. Requires regular lifting of weights up to 5 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
