This role ensures that coffee milling operations adhere to established standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices to maintain product quality, safety, and operational efficiency. The Coordinator will evaluate procedures, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance process documentation and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry:
Ensure PO data entry into ERP matches the Receipt ticket generated Perform data entry for Jobs Process Review and Auditing Conduct regular audits of coffee milling processes, including bean receiving, grading, roasting, job review and approvals, physical inventories to ensure compliance with documented procedures and industry standards Verify that all processes align with Kona Mill's quality, safety, and environmental guidelines
Documentation Evaluation:
Review existing process documentation for accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are up-to-date and reflect current practices. Identify undocumented processes and collaborate with mill staff to develop clear, compliant documentation.
Compliance Monitoring:
Monitor and verify that all mill personnel follow documented procedures. Conduct spot checks and inspections to ensure consistent application of processes. Report non-compliance issues and work with management to implement corrective actions.
Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies, inconsistencies, or risks in milling processes and recommend improvements. Collaborate with mill manager to update procedures and ensure alignment with industry best practices. Assist in training staff on updated processes and compliance requirements.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, non-conformities, and recommendations. Present findings to management and provide actionable insights to improve operations. Maintain records of audits, compliance checks, and corrective actions for regulatory and internal purposes.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in coffee milling technology. Contribute to the development of quality assurance programs to enhance mill performance.
Qualifications:
Education:
Agriculture, Quality Management, or a related field desirable.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in auditing, quality assurance, or process management, preferably in coffee production or food processing. Knowledge of coffee milling processes (e.g., wet/dry milling, roasting, packaging) is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Excellent understanding of process documentation and compliance standards. Proficiency in auditing techniques and reporting. Ability to communicate effectively with mill staff, management, and external regulators.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to work in a mill environment, including exposure to coffee dust and varying temperatures. Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular hours for audits or process reviews. Temporary harvest season 6 days/wk
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the mill for extended periods. Capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for inspection purposes. Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
