This role requires hands-on proficiency in PC-DMIS and Polyworks programming and execution, performing dimensional inspections with precision metrology equipment at all stages of production. A strong foundation in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T is essential. The Quality Engineer must be capable of developing and executing CMM programs and Romer Arm routines to validate part conformance to drawing specifications and must be comfortable setting up and performing inspections independently. Maintain quality records and documents, working at the direction of management and subject to customer requirements. Prepare quality records, plans and related documentation for Team review and Customer submittals. Use of the ERP System to document quality records. Maintain and organize electronic files of quality records in our system. This position is responsible to understand and follow all AS9100 procedures.
Duties & Areas of Responsibility Inspection & Measurement:
Read blueprints and measure parts with manual gauges and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to inspect product to drawing specifications. Perform Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspections. Program, perform and set up CMM & Romer Arm inspections using PC-DMIS and Polyworks. Inspect products in-process at point of production for dimensions, finishes (e.g., smooth spinning, no burrs or sharp edges) and specifications as applicable; using micrometers, calipers (digital and vernier), height gauges, fixtures, gages, the CMM and the Romer Arm.
Material Review:
Inspect incoming material from suppliers and outgoing finished goods for conformance to defined specifications. Participate in Corrective Action and Root Cause Analysis processes; implement and verify Corrective Actions. Manage DMR/RMA processes.
Training & Guidance:
Provide training for operators and set-up personnel using best practices, tools and resources required for the operation being performed. Assist Inspectors and Operators to inspect per Plans.
Problem Solving:
Identify non-conforming products, lead problem solving, and work collaboratively with supervisors to resolve quality issues and recommend process improvements, timely.
