Job Description

Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Quality Inspector where you will conduct post-machining inspections with a focus on stainless steel products. You will utilize your skills in dimensional inspection using micrometers and calipers to ensure precision in products with very tight tolerances. Your role will involve reading blueprints and working closely with a small, cohesive team to maintain high standards of quality. Responsibilities Perform inspections and document results using Good Documentation Practices. Ensure all expected documentation is received, accurate, and meets specification requirements. Accurately document and receive incoming material into the company system, ensuring correct storage per AKBA procedures. Perform pre-shipment checks at vendor sites when necessary. Support system-side receiving processes as needed. Control nonconforming products, ensuring proper identification and quarantining until final disposition. Prepare and submit nonconforming material reports and collaborate with relevant departments for resolution. Essential Skills Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Minimum of 2 years of quality experience in a machine shop or quality control role for metal fabricated parts. Strong documentation and organization skills. Working knowledge of receiving, quality control, and shipping practices. Familiarity with fabricated part drawings and tolerancing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with gauges as measurement tools. Working knowledge of OD and depth micrometers and profilometers. Good soft skills for effective team collaboration. Work Environment This is a long-term contract position expected to last 9 months, with the possibility of extension. You will be part of a quality team of four people, working in a warehouse that is both clean and temperature-controlled. The position is on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
