Job description Lake County manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Quality Lab Technician with basic computer and math skills, knowledge of a variety of measuring devices, good communication skills, ability to manage a team and QC's and communicate with quality manager.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Basic math skills Strong communication skills, writing and interpersonal in English (Spanish a plus) 1 to 2 years experience in Quality Control, preferably in plastic injection molding Working knowledge of a variety of measuring devices, including: Pi tape, caliper, micrometer, comparator, weight scales, etc. Able to understand product drawings
Other Qualifications or Requirements:

Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred Good organizational skills No restrictions in standing or lifting weights up to 45 pounds Experience using an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software - preferably IQMS (Integrated Quality Management Systems) Experience using/programming a CMM (coordinate measuring machine) - Brown and Sharpe (Hexagon Metrology) Basic knowledge of statistical processes Basic understanding of corrective and preventive action Able to work independently
Principle Responsibilities:
Assists/Trains Quality Inspectors in performing their duties Primary contact between Plant Manager and Quality Inspectors Interact directly with Plant Manager, Operators and Quality Inspectors Approves production start-ups Assists in completing /implementing corrective and preventive action Prepare Quality Alerts Assists in disposition of suspect product Files material certificates of conformance and other records into IQMS Maintain list of inspection equipment Maintain product retain samples Conduct MFI (melt flow index), density and other tests as required Maintain completed work order records Schedule Quality Inspectors weekend duties Fill-in for absent Quality Inspectors Performs other duties as assigned
