Quality Inspector [2nd Shift - 2-10:30AM] This role focuses on performing accurate quality inspections for electro-mechanical and electronic components in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Quality Inspector interprets engineering and manufacturing drawings, uses precision inspection tools to measure parts, and documents non-conformities to ensure products meet required specifications and standards. Responsibilities Perform incoming inspection of parts and materials to ensure they meet specified requirements. Interpret manufacturing and engineering drawings, including schematics and drawing notes, to determine inspection criteria. Measure parts using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages, and compare results to blueprints and specifications. Conduct visual inspections and use appropriate measuring tools to verify dimensions and quality characteristics. Document inspection results accurately, including recording non-conformities and updating inspection reports. Support quality documentation activities, including preparation and maintenance of inspection records. Assist in creating and performing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), when required. Contribute to quality processes involving Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans, as needed. Work with electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies, including circuit board manufacturing and PCBA, to verify compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with quality technicians and other team members to maintain consistent quality control across incoming materials and finished products. Essential Skills Minimum 2 years of experience in quality inspection, gage calibration, or a quality technician role. Proficiency in interpreting manufacturing and engineering drawings, including reading drawing notes and schematics. Hands-on experience performing quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, gages, and other inspection tools. Ability to perform visual inspections and use measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Experience measuring parts and comparing results to blueprints and specifications. Strong understanding of quality control and quality inspection principles in a manufacturing environment. Ability to accurately document inspection results and non-conformities. Familiarity with quality documentation practices and procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with electronics, including circuit board manufacturing, PCBA, or electro-mechanical manufacturing. Experience creating and performing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs). Exposure to or experience with PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process). Exposure to or experience drafting PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control Plans. Experience in an electronics manufacturing or electro-mechanical systems environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established inspection procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
