Mokena, Illinois, United States Job Description QC Technician Pay:
$20.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, skills, and QC level (QC Tech I, QC Tech II, or QC Tech III) Job Summary Up at Dawn, Inc. is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Technicians to join our food manufacturing team. The QC Technician is responsible for monitoring and verifying product quality, food safety, and production processes to ensure products meet company standards, customer specifications, and applicable food safety requirements. QC Technicians work closely with Production and other departments to identify quality issues, document findings, and help maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine quality control inspections and checks throughout the production process. Monitor products, ingredients, packaging, and production processes for compliance with quality and food safety standards. Collect and document samples, measurements, test results, and other quality data accurately. Verify product specifications, weights, temperatures, dimensions, and other required quality attributes. Use measuring instruments and QC equipment as required. Complete quality control records, checklists, logs, and reports accurately and on time. Identify, document, and communicate quality or food safety concerns to supervisors and appropriate departments. Assist with investigating quality issues and identifying potential causes. Follow company GMP, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures. Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with company requirements. Conduct inspections of production areas and finished products. Communicate effectively with Production, QC leadership, and other departments regarding quality concerns. Assist with corrective and preventive actions when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, food manufacturing, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, FDA food safety requirements, or similar food manufacturing standards is preferred. Ability to accurately read, record, and interpret measurements and production data. Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic or written documentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, based on production needs. Bilingual skills are a plus. Schedule Up at Dawn, Inc. operates 7 days a week. QC Technicians work 12-hour shifts , with schedules varying based on production needs. Employees may be scheduled approximately 3-6 days per week, including weekends .
First Shift:
Approximately 3:00 AM-3:00
PM Second Shift:
Approximately 3:00 PM-3:00 AM Schedules may vary from week to week depending on production requirements. Work Environment This position is performed in a food manufacturing facility. Employees may work in areas where temperatures can vary throughout the year and must follow all required food safety, GMP, PPE, sanitation, and safety procedures. Training New employees receive onboarding, orientation, safety training, GMP training, and job-specific QC training.
