A little about us— Out to make a meaningful impact by taking manufacturing to heart, we create customized foodservice packaging, specializing in foil-laminated bagstock, sandwich wrappers, and waxed butter wrappers. We also provide the building industry with radiant barrier, foil-laminated structures which optimize energy efficiency in new construction. Located in Mokena, Illinois, Volflex is a family-owned company, well-known for its commitment to employees, and where putting customers first with an eye on safety and quality has led to consistent growth since 2009. Quality Control Specialist As a critical member of the Volflex Quality Assurance Team, the Quality Control Specialist will work closely with an enthusiastic team of plant managers, line operators, sales team, and customer support personnel to monitor and help ensure customer expectations in quality are met or exceeded. Reporting to the Quality Programs Coordinator, success in this role will be achieved through investigative problem-solving, attention to detail, and an eager ability to help establish and maintain measurable food packaging safety and quality objectives within a Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. Example tasks include root cause analysis, quality assurance, developing and implementing control procedures, performing inspections on packaging samples, quality audits, helping to ensure HACCP procedures are followed, responding to customer inquiries, and other cross-functional office roles. Initially, this position will include aspects of customer service and shipping, which all dovetail into quality assurance. Experience with today's computer systems, inventory management, shipping, production, and other aspects of inventory traceability will be important in this role. You will also conduct lab tests related to paper and packaging quality, ensuring specifications are being met. We always hire for attitude and outlook first!
