Construction Materials Testing Technician

Millennia Professional Services is a full-service civil engineering, land surveying, and geotechnical firm with offices in Morton, Downers Grove, and Fairview Heights, Illinois and in St. Louis, Missouri. We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Construction Materials Testing Technician in our Morton (Central Illinois) location. Construction Materials Testing Technicians perform a variety of testing on construction materials such as soils, concrete, and asphalt. On-site materials testing is conducted on various commercial and transportation construction projects. Occasionally, working with construction inspection and surveying departments may be required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Perform field testing on construction materials Sample and test soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt Perform testing and observations on commercial, residential, and government construction projects Prepare daily reports on observation activities Must be able to work independently Must be comfortable as decision-making authority Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical concepts Ability to communicate both written and verbally Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook Strong interpersonal skills Safety focus and attention to detail

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

High School diploma or equivalent; degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Construction Management, or related, preferred 0-3 years construction experience The following certifications are not required, but preferred: ACI concrete field-testing, PCC

I, PCC II, HMA I, HMA
