Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Machine Operator with expertise in operating CNC milling machines and similar equipment. As a Fabrication Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by producing high-quality precision components according to engineering specifications. Your proficiency in programming, setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC milling machines will be essential to meet production targets while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.Responsibilities:
CNC Machining:
Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and tooling requirements. Select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and other machining parameters to achieve desired outcomes. Monitor machine operations, adjusting as necessary to ensure parts conform to specifications.Tooling and Setup:
Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and work holding devices for each machining task. Conduct thorough machine setups, including workpiece alignment, tool changes, and tool length measurement. Perform tool offsets and adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout the machining process.Quality Assurance:
Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Identify and address any deviations from specifications, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards. Collaborate with quality control team to ensure that finished parts meet all quality requirements.Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn components. Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address more complex machine problems.Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of machine setups, tooling selections, and program changes. Document process improvements, lessons learned, and best practices to enhance team knowledge and efficiency.Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Follow company policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Qualifications Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, technical/vocational education in machining is preferred. Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically with CNC milling machines. Proficiency in programming and operating CNC milling machines, including knowledge of G-code and CAM software. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and metrology techniques. Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to machining operations. Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted. Capacity to sustain standing for extended periods (8 to 10 hours).
