Quality Control Inspector for 1st shift, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The role focuses on programming CMM equipment and inspecting machined and welded metal components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications. The inspector collaborates with engineering and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and maintain quality records.
Key Responsibilities:
Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect complex parts and assemblies. Perform dimensional inspections (first piece, last piece, in-process) on machined parts and weldments using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other specialized measuring equipment. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to investigate, identify, and resolve root causes of manufacturing issues. Evaluate production quality by identifying, assessing, and documenting defects in semi-finished and finished goods. Maintain quality records by accurately completing required forms, reports, logs, and compliance documentation. Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. At least three years of experience inspecting machined parts, fabricated welded assemblies, and sheet metal parts. Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T/ASME Y14.5) and interpreting complex blueprints and welding symbols. Must pass a practical micrometer and caliper proficiency test. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Quality Technician (CQT) certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with PC-DMIS software. Experience using Hexagon arms or Zeiss CMM systems.
