Our client is looking for a Quality Technician/Supervisor to help ensure that steel products and manufacturing processes meet quality standards and customer requirements.
In this role, you will inspect products, perform measurements and quality checks, document results, investigate quality issues, and work with the production team to prevent defects. You may also lead quality audits, train production employees on quality procedures, and supervise a small team of quality personnel.
Key ResponsibilitiesInspect steel products and manufacturing processes to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Perform measurements and quality checks using appropriate inspection tools and equipment.
Record and maintain accurate quality and inspection documentation.
Identify quality issues and perform root-cause analysis to determine why problems occurred.
Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce defects and improve quality.
Conduct and coordinate internal quality audits and follow up on findings.
Work closely with production and operations teams to identify and resolve quality problems.
Help improve manufacturing processes and reduce scrap, defects, and rework.
Train production employees on quality procedures and requirements.
Assign inspection tasks and provide direction to quality personnel when needed.
Ensure quality procedures are followed and support compliance with applicable industry standards.
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and measurement reports.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all company safety procedures.
Qualifications2+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, metal processing, steel, or a related industrial environment is preferred.
Experience with Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA).Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement practices.
Experience conducting or supporting quality audits.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
Comfortable using measurement and inspection tools.
Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and quality tracking systems.
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams.
Previous experience leading or supervising quality personnel is a plus.
A technical certification or Associate/Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
Must be comfortable working on-site in a manufacturing/production environment, standing for extended periods, and working safely on the production floor.
