A Quality Inspector inspects and evaluates products according to company quality control standards. Inspects goods or packaging in a production or manufacturing facility.
Avon, NY Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting manufactured parts, performing first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections, and supporting quality and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. Key Responsibilities Perform first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections. Operate manual and programmable CMM equipment and other precision inspection instruments. Run approved CMM inspection programs and identify dimensional or quality issues. Review engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and job requirements. Audit existing processes and support continuous improvement initiatives. Verify inspection gauges and tools are properly maintained and calibrated. Ensure gauges and inspection equipment are in good working condition. Review job packets for required quality paperwork and documentation. Complete quality-related data entry and maintain accurate inspection records. Assist production with sorting, deburring, reworking, and cleaning parts as needed. Perform material handling using skid jacks, cranes, and tow motors. Communicate quality issues with production and management teams. Qualifications Associate degree (AA/AS/AAS), quality certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of:
GD&T Blueprint reading Statistics Sampling methods Gauging methods Process control CMM setup and programming experience using Zeiss Calypso and/or PC-DMIS. preferred Experience with metrology and precision inspection equipment preferred Knowledge of gauge calibration preferred ISO auditing experience is a plus. CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience is highly preferred. High school diploma with a technical certificate or 2+ years of manufacturing or machining experience in a Quality role. Ability to pass a preemployment screening
Pay:
$21-$35 per hour based on experience
