Job Description

Position Summary:
The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections, supporting production audits, conducting testing per customer, company, SAE, FMVSS, ISO, or ECE standards, collecting data and accurately documenting test results. Quality Technicians must fully understand the limitations of the measurement methods and equipment used to collect the data in each test they run, ensure that the proper methods and equipment are used to conduct each test, verify data quality, and prepare test reports . This position works 4, 10-hour days. Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm. They spend most of their time on the production floor, which is bright, clean, safe and air-conditioned. Shield Restraint Systems, Inc., produces seatbelts and restraints for a variety of end-users including forklifts, agricultural equipment, school busses, amusement park rides, utility vehicles and more.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure tests & procedures are properly understood, carried out & evaluated & that product performance & testing anomalies are investigated if necessary Not required to perform data analysis, but must recognize if the data they collect is within drawing specification. Must follow procedures if the parts are not to drawing specification. Perform Incoming Inspection & related quality-related paperwork/QAD data entry Runs any test or test machine in the lab without supervision Support ISO certification, including performing as an internal ISO auditor if requested Support the development & refinement of company quality procedures & QMS system Set up & maintain controls & documentation procedures as needed Support the tracking & reporting of the Cost of Poor Quality across NA and EU operations Follow all Employee Policies as described in the Employee Handbook All other duties as assigned OT is mandatory when the production team works
Role Qualifications, Education and Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance or related field preferred Strong PC skills (MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) Restraint system industry experience is preferred, experience in manufacturing. Strong communication skills, to include spoken and written skills preferred Experience in Quality Management System and System audits Experience in ISO 9001 and/or
TS-16949
