Job Description

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Quality/Test Engineer 2 - CMM Programmer. The work will be done onsite full-time at a manufacturing facility in Lafayette, IN. This is a 12-month long-term position with strong potential for permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38.60/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay). Job Summary Cullerton Group is seeking a Quality/Test Engineer with advanced CMM programming expertise to support supplier quality and manufacturing inspection activities. This role focuses on translating 3D engineering models and technical drawings into CMM inspection programs that support production, receiving inspection, APQP/PPAP, warranty analysis, and line issue resolution. The position operates in a fast-paced environment and serves as a technical resource across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality teams. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver with strong GD&T knowledge and hands-on metrology experience. Key Responsibilities Develop, run, debug, and maintain CMM inspection programs for machined components Translate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings into accurate CMM checks Program and edit CMM routines using PC-DMIS at an advanced level Collect, analyze, and interpret inspection data to support quality decisions Support production, supplier quality, warranty investigations, and line failures Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on CMM data and inspection results Assist with mobile arm inspections and additional metrology support as needed Maintain strong documentation, prioritization, and record-keeping practices Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree with equivalent hands-on experience Advanced PC-DMIS programming capability (Level 3 proficiency) Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering prints Experience inspecting machined components and supporting manufacturing quality Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills Effective communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications Hexagon PC-DMIS formal training or certification Experience with data analysis and quality reporting tools Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, Zeiss Calypso, or PolyWorks Experience supporting APQP, PPAP, or supplier quality initiatives Why This Role?
