Position Summary The Advanced Quality Technician Specialist is responsible for advanced operation, programming, and maintenance of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and precision metrology equipment. This salaried role supports Quality, Engineering, and Production by ensuring accurate dimensional analysis, maintaining measurement systems, and improving inspection processes for a 150‑employee assembly manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
  • CMM Operation
  • Perform daily setup, calibration, and operation of CMM equipment to support production and quality inspections.
  • CMM Programming
  • Develop, modify, and optimize CMM programs using PC‑DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent software.
  • Dimensional Inspection
  • Conduct first‑article, in‑process, and final inspections; interpret GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Metrology System Maintenance
  • Maintain gauges, fixtures, calibration records, and metrology documentation.
  • Quality & Engineering Support
  • Partner with Quality Engineers and Production Supervisors to resolve dimensional issues and support root‑cause analysis.
  • Data Reporting
  • Generate inspection reports, capability studies, and measurement data for PPAP, audits, and customer requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend improvements to inspection methods, fixtures, and measurement processes.
  • Compliance
  • Ensure all measurement activities meet internal standards, customer specifications, and
ISO/IATF
requirements. Qualifications Education
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Metrology, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent technical experience considered. Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in precision measurement, CMM operation, or quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with GD&T, blueprint reading, and measurement systems analysis preferred.
  • Prior experience with PC‑DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar CMM software strongly preferred. Skills
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with CMM programming and metrology tools.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate results clearly.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
