Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through effective quality inspection, assurance, and management practices. This position requires a strong understanding of quality systems and regulations, including
ISO 9001 /IATF
16949, as well as the ability to analyze processes and implement improvements.
Primary Job Functions:
Ensures that quality is at the highest level. Assists Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) team with quality issues on new product launches including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Prepares and evaluates Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents for customers and suppliers. Understand and communicate all customer specific requirements. Identifies the best inspection method based on part geometry and other variables. Establish and update SPC inputs. Submit IMDS in portal. First point of contact regarding customer issues. Monitor customer portals/systems. Knowledge of customer specific problem-solving methodology. Help drive closure of customer complaints/8D's, customer contact and assistance when necessary. Communicates with customers and suppliers (including corrective action reports). Maintains file of related correspondence. Verify all signed-off master samples used for visual control per Quality Manager/Managements direction. Track/file certifications for gages/fixtures and measuring equipment along with yearly re-certifications. Assist in dimensional checks, GR&Rs, capability studies and reviews. Assist with daily plant floor reviews and/or issues that may occur; provide training. Participates in defect/scrap reduction activities. Manages conflicting/changing priorities to avoid inspection delays. Completes and conforms to first articles and/or other various inspection plans. Performs inspection in accordance with customer requirements. Supports containment, and completion of related documentation/reports of nonconforming products. Supports LPA process. Assists with incoming, in-process, final inspections dock audits as needed. Develop and/or update quality alerts and work instructions, as necessary. Communicates effectively as required i.e., Supervisor, Co-workers, and others necessary to perform job duties. Other quality functions requested by Quality.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong mechanical skill and aptitude. Thorough understanding of GD&T. Proficient in using various pieces of measuring equipment including (but not limited to), CMM, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, radius gages, gage blocks, gage pins, special gages, height stand, etc. Possess a strong ability to accurately read and interpret simple and complex engineering blueprints. Strong understanding of basic arithmetic and trigonometry. High- level of organization and discipline. Desire to continually learn and develop technical skills.
