Quality Control Technician II -

Location:
Plainfield, Indiana The Quality Control Technician II is responsible for conducting inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and requires working closely with the Production and Research & Development departments. This requires an understanding of quality control principles, measurement tools, and inspection techniques, with the ability to document and communicate findings effectively.
Responsibilities:
Perform inspections and analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and quality standards. Accurately record and maintain detailed inspection results, test data, deviations, and quality findings within required logs and documentation systems. Maintain complete and accurate records of inspections, testing activities, reports, logs, and quality documentation. Identify, document, and report nonconformances, escalating issues appropriately to support timely resolution. Participate in root cause analysis investigations and continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality and process effectiveness. Collaborate with Production, Research & Development, Quality Assurance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure consistent product quality and compliance. Calibrate testing equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure accuracy and reliability. Assist with training production personnel and new technicians on quality procedures and standards. Support the development, revision, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Identify and report safety concerns, hazards, and compliance issues to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Desired Background/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years of quality inspection or quality control experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is a plus. Knowledge of inspection methods, measurement tools, and analytical testing techniques. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, as well as electronic data management systems. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and documentation accuracy. Understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality policies and procedures. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, draw conclusions, and resolve quality-related issues. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present findings and recommendations. Ability to manage quality documentation and track testing specifications accurately. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a warehouse or manufacturing facility. Ability to work in an environment with exposure to raw materials, loud noise levels, and varying temperatures. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with established dress code requirements.
