Job Description
Company Description Charleston Metal Products, Inc. is a contract manufacturer of precision machined components serving the automotive, fitting, agriculture, and heavy truck industries. The company specializes in Automatic Screw Machines, CNC machining, Centerless Grinding, Broaching, and a range of other machining capabilities. Team members contribute to producing high-quality, engineered parts that support critical industrial applications. The work environment emphasizes precision, reliability, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. Role Description The Quality Technician role is a full-time, on-site position located in Waterloo, IN. This role is responsible for performing routine inspections and tests on precision machined products to ensure they meet established quality standards and customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring production processes, documenting test results, assisting with internal quality audits, and supporting root-cause analysis for nonconformances. The Quality Technician professional collaborates with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions, maintain quality records, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves using measurement tools and quality systems software to verify compliance and uphold Charleston Metal Products' quality expectations. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support problem-solving in manufacturing environments. Candidates should possess Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills to perform inspections, verify product conformity, and maintain compliance with standards. Candidates should possess Quality Auditing skills to assist with internal audits, process reviews, and documentation of findings. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, document results clearly, and report quality issues promptly. Experience in precision machining or manufacturing environments and familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) are beneficial. Knowledge of IATF or similar quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies (such as 5S or basic lean concepts) is an advantage. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or coursework in quality, manufacturing, or engineering technology is preferred. Ability to work on-site, follow safety protocols, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced production setting.
