Job Description

U.S. Assurance Specialist | Commercial P&C A growing commercial Property & Casualty insurance organization is seeking a U.S. Assurance Specialist to work across underwriting, compliance, regulatory and financial activities. This is a unique opportunity for someone who understands insurance beyond the audit checklist. The person in this role needs to understand how underwriting and insurance operations are supposed to function, recognize when execution deviates from established guidelines or requirements, and help identify practical solutions. The Role You'll lead and participate in operational and assurance reviews across areas including: Underwriting file reviews and adherence to established guidelines and procedures Rates and forms compliance Regulatory requirements Documentation and reporting controls Financial and transactional activity Data analysis and risk-based sample selection Identification of operational and compliance risks Development and follow-up of corrective recommendations Review methodology, policies and procedures You'll also work directly with insurance partners and senior leadership, making this much more than a behind-the-scenes audit position. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of P&C insurance audit or closely related assurance experience and understands the mechanics of commercial insurance operations. Experience involving MGAs, MGUs, program administrators or delegated authority business would be particularly valuable. Additional experience with underwriting, rating, underwriting guidelines, rates and forms, compliance, program governance, claims or policy administration could differentiate a candidate. We're also looking for: Strong analytical and investigative skills Ability to identify risk and communicate practical recommendations Strong project management and communication skills Bachelor's degree Familiarity with AI tools and their application to workflow or problem solving Willingness to travel periodically Who Could Be Particularly Interesting? Someone whose career sits between insurance audit and insurance operations . You may have come through traditional P&C audit/assurance, or your background may cross underwriting, compliance, program governance and delegated authority oversight. Either way, you should be comfortable getting into the details of an insurance operation, determining whether what's happening matches what should be happening, and knowing which questions to ask when it doesn't.
