Job Description

Job Summary The Quality Technician II is an experienced quality professional who independently performs Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities in support of manufacturing operations and the company Quality Management System. The position supports compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, FDA, and cGMP requirements . The Quality Technician II performs inspections and testing, reviews production records, supports investigations and audits, and helps identify and resolve quality issues. This role requires strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 630a-3pm. Please note, secondary interview will be required. For further questions, please call our office 913-268-1222. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect, test, and approve or reject raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products according to specifications and procedures. Perform production line inspections and identify potential quality or compliance issues. Review production and batch records for accuracy, including yields, labels, and material additions. Review receiving documents and test incoming materials when required. Review and approve regulated batch records and assist with master batch record updates. Close batch records and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs). Maintain accurate quality records, logs, and documentation according to GMP requirements. Support the Quality Management System and document control activities. Investigate and help resolve production and quality issues. Support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), customer complaints, nonconformances, deviations, quality alerts, and returned goods. Work with Operations, Manufacturing, R&D, and other departments to troubleshoot quality issues. Maintain raw material and finished product retain samples and support disposal activities. Test customer samples as required. Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas using 5S practices. Assist with equipment calibration activities. Update and distribute quality and production documentation. Participate in production meetings, audits, and quality-related meetings. Assist with writing, updating, and training employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Support Operations in maintaining product and quality standards. Follow all company safety, quality, environmental, and GMP requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when needed. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. College or technical education in science, quality, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Technician or in a related quality position. Experience working in an FDA, cGMP, AS9100, or
ISO 9001
regulated environment. Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred. Experience performing basic laboratory testing such as: pH Viscosity Specific gravity Other basic quality tests Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and laboratory procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Required Skills Strong attention to detail. Good organization and time-management skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Ability to perform manual data entry. Occasional bending, squatting, lifting, and handling of materials. Ability to work in laboratory, office, and manufacturing environments. Work Environment Office and laboratory environment. Occasional work in manufacturing areas. May be exposed to heat, cold, machinery, and controlled chemicals. Must safely handle chemicals and materials according to approved procedures. Must follow all safety and environmental requirements. Safety Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Safely handle chemicals, equipment, and materials. Promote safe work practices within Quality and Manufacturing. Report unsafe conditions and quality concerns promptly.
Pay:
$24.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
