Job Description
Job Summary The skilled quality Technician independently performs accurate and timely inspections to verify that work meets customer requirements, approved drawings, job card instructions, purchase order requirements and company quality standards. This position requires an experienced technician who can interpret technical requirements, select and use precision measuring equipment, evaluate results, document findings, and make sound acceptance or hold decisions without continuous supervision. The position supports production, scheduling, customer service, and management by identifying quality concerns early, protecting traceability and communicating factual inspection information need to keep work moving. Essential Responsibilities Perform incoming fabrication, preplate, in process, postplate, final grind, and final inspections as assigned. Review drawings, job cards, production notes, inspection checklists and customer specifications before beginning inspection Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, geometric requirements, dimensions, tolerances, surface finish symbols, note and customer specifications. Understand how fabrication, welding, machining, polishing, masking, plating, grinding and finishing operations affect inspection results. Independently use applicable precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore measuring equipment, height measuring equipment and surface finish equipment. Qualifications Two years or more of hands on dimensional inspection, precision machinging, industrial hard chrome plating, grinding or closely related manufacturing experience. Demonstrated proficiency reading blueprints and technical drawings and evaluating dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, TIR, fits and notes. Demonstrated proficiency selecting and independently using precision measuring equipment appropriate to the required tolerance. Strong applied math, analytical, problem solving, organization and communication skills.
