Job Description
Back Quality Control Technician @ Teche Energy Job Description Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all expected samples are collected, tested, and recorded in a safe and efficient manner. This job will consist of the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities. Employees are not limited to the following key roles and responsibilities and may be asked to perform additional duties. Key Responsibilities and Duties Follow and adhere to all site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and company operational standards to maintain a safe and compliant work environment Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and ensure it is maintained and in good condition. Attend and actively participate in both pre-shift and weekly safety meetings Identify and immediately report safety hazards, near miss events, environmental concerns, and unsafe conditions to supervision. Collect samples from required sample points. Ensure that all required tests are performed in accordance with company standard operating procedures Calibrate, verify, and maintain laboratory instruments and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of data. Assist in developing, revising, and improving SOPs, work instructions, and quality procedures. Perform routine quality audits on production processes, sampling points, and testing documentation. Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and assist in determining root causes. Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables; notify supervision when restocking is needed. Ensure proper labeling and traceability of all samples, reagents, and retained materials. Comply with regulatory standards (e.g., environmental, safety, or industry-specific quality requirements). Support internal and external audits by providing data, forms, and documentation as needed. Ensure proper storage and organization of samples, chemicals, calibration records, and quality documents. Perform routine inspections of lab and sampling areas to maintain compliance with safety and cleanliness requirements. Maintain a clean work area throughout your shift. Record and enter data into company log system throughout your shift. Record data on data log sheets. Maintain radio communication with control room throughout your shift. Ensure work area is cleaned and swept up at shift change. Ensure smooth transition at shift change and communicate any issues experienced on shift. Participate in safety meetings, training, and required certifications to stay current with compliance requirements. Follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of materials, including chemicals or waste products, to prevent environmental impact. How to
