Job Description
Quality Control (QC) Technician American Tank Company - New Iberia, LA Job Summary American Tank Company is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for inspecting and verifying parts throughout the production process to ensure compliance with fabrication drawings, dimensions, and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints, using measuring tools, and performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Inspect parts produced by CNC punch and plasma cutting equipment. Verify dimensions and measurements using a tape measure and standard inspection tools. Review fabricated components produced by the welding department. Inspect crimped parts to ensure proper dimensions and workmanship. Verify rolled tank components using templates to confirm correct tank diameters. Perform final quality control inspections during packaging. Confirm all tank components are included and quantities are accurate prior to shipment. Maintain inspection records and communicate quality concerns to production personnel. Work closely with production staff to ensure quality standards are met. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of quality control, manufacturing, fabrication, or related experience . Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints. Ability to accurately read a tape measure. Strong attention to detail. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in steel fabrication or tank manufacturing is a plus. What This Position Is Not This is not a machine-shop inspection role requiring specialized precision instruments and extremely tight tolerances. Most inspections involve standard fabrication measurements and verification of manufactured tank components.
