Quality Control Technician Apply Now Job Description:
Location:
Dudley, Massachusetts CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking detail-oriented Quality Technician candidates in the Dudley, MA area to join our client's QC team. The QC Technician is responsible for ensuring all manufactured products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role involves precise measurement and inspection of components and materials using micrometers, dial gauges, and calipers to tight tolerances, as well as the verification of mix and propellant weights down to 0.01 grams. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and the ability to work collaboratively with production, mechanics, and quality teams to maintain the highest product quality and safety standards. 1st shift: 8am-4:45pm M-F Temp-to-hire opportunity!
Responsibilities:
Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, dial gauges, and calipers to verify parts meet specification tolerances of ±0.001″. Verify material mixes and propellant weights using precision scales to an accuracy of 0.01 grams. Ensure that all material components are correct by verifying part numbers and recording lot numbers. Confirm that the correct propellant type is being used and that mixes are approved by the Quality Assurance Laboratory prior to production. Obtain and label in-process and final samples for in-house retention and submission to the QA Lab for testing and analysis. Accurately record inspection data, material information, and test results in accordance with company quality procedures. Monitor the manufacturing process to quickly detect, document and address any deviations or nonconformities. Work closely with production operators and line mechanics to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues in real time. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, particularly when working around flammable chemicals, propellants, and pressurized gases. Communicate inspection results and quality concerns clearly within the QA department and across departments to maintain product integrity and process efficiency.
Desired Background/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or quality inspection preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance or inspection role. Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges. Experience using weighing equipment and familiarity with mixing processes and propellant verification procedures. Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems, documentation practices, and lot traceability requirements. Experience working safely around flammable or pressurized materials preferred. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and documentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Basic computer proficiency for data entry and use of Quality Management Systems (QMS). Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as required. Manual dexterity to handle small components and precision measuring tools. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, face shields, and flame-resistant clothing.
