We are looking for an experienced, skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team and help ensure our products continuously meet exact customer and regulatory specifications. Position Summary As a Quality Inspector , you will play a critical role in maintaining our product standards through raw material, in-process, and final mechanical inspections. You will read and interpret complex engineering blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to verify that all parts strictly align with design specifications.
Key Responsibilities Inspection & Testing:
Perform first-piece, in-process, receiving, and final mechanical inspections on precision-machined parts and assemblies.
Blueprint Reading & GD&T:
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and model files; utilize GD&T principles to evaluate critical dimensions, form, orientation, and profile tolerances.
Tool & Equipment Operation:
Proficiently use hand tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges) and setup/operate precision measurement equipment (such as CMMs and optical comparators).
Documentation & Reporting:
Accurately record first piece inspection results and First Article Inspections (FAI) reports.
Non-Conformance Handling:
Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming parts; create Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and collaborate with engineering and production teams to assist in root-cause analysis.
Process Improvement:
Assist in improvements to the inspection processes and workflows.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing, machining, or precision engineering environment.
GD&T Expertise:
Strong proficiency in interpreting blueprints using
ASME Y14.5 / GD&T
standards.
Mechanical Inspection:
Proven mastery of conventional precision measuring tools (micrometers, digital height gauges, indicators, plug/thread gauges).
Computer Literacy:
Basic to intermediate computer skills for entering data into ERP/QMS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word). Attention to
Detail:
Excellent analytical skills, high accuracy, and a commitment to quality standards. Preferred /
Plus:
Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines and Digital Height Gages Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems.
