Job Description

Our client is a privately held sheet metal fabrication and machining company based in Peabody, MA. Founded in the mid-1980s, it has grown into a roughly 60,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility serving industries such as medical devices, automotive, electronics, and energy storage, with a focus on precision metal components, engineering support, and continuous improvement in production quality.
Salary:
$70,000 - $85,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)
Job Summary:
Our client located is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector responsible for performing first article, in-process, and final inspections, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring compliance with established quality standards. The role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality output and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform first article (FAI), in-process, and final inspections Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications Use precision measuring instruments, including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records Identify nonconformances and support corrective and preventive actions Collaborate with production, engineering, and management to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery Support ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives Propose, develop, and implement quality assurance policies and procedures in coordination with product quality engineers Support calibration processes Assist with internal and external audits of processes and procedures
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment (including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, etc.) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Experience supporting quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives preferred Ability to document findings clearly and communicate effectively across departments Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards is a plus
