Technical Apprentice / Quality Assurance Support Metalcraft, Inc. / Sea-Fire Marine - 2.0 Rosedale, MD Job Details Part-time $15.38 - $18.47 an hour 17 hours ago Qualifications Shipping & receiving Continuous improvement Attention to detail Hand tools Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Technical Apprentice / Quality Assurance Support Metalcraft is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in a Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-mid level candidates to launch a rewarding career in Quality and Manufacturing while developing technical skills alongside experienced Quality Professionals. Cross- functional support for production and/or engineering development and product testing experience will be considered. This position is scheduled for 20hrs per week, Monday-Thursday, 12p-4p, and Friday 8a-12p. Modified/consistent schedules will be considered for the perfect candidate in this role.
Primary Responsibilities may include:
Assist the Quality and/or Production and Engineering teams as trained, qualified, and needed. Support Quality projects such as organization of tooling/area, process development, data gathering, inspection program development, maintenance, and general functional support. Assist/perform receiving and/or in-process inspections as well as product testing and other evaluation activities. Research and identify tooling needs for use in our Calibration program. Assist Calibration Specialist with gathering tools, data entry, and shipping/receiving tooling within ERP system. Assist and/or drive supplier qualification reach-outs for re-approval. Perform basic hand tool measurements, develop inspection templates, read and interpret technical drawings, draft documents, and provide reporting for inspections. Organize, perform, and present testing data and results for final approval and/or production release activities. Review documents that are contained in ECN packages and provide feedback for complete and accurate records of change.
Skills and Qualifications Desired:
Strong mechanical aptitude, comfortable with high pressure applications, and focused on continuous improvements while using common-sense problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of tooling:
Calipers, Gages, etc. Detail oriented, solid organizational skills, and ability to provide fact and data-based decision making. Knowledge of ERP System. basic understanding to read engineering drawings. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, adhere to safe testing practices, and work independently when required. Ability to adapt and adjust to meet the needs of the Production floor. Familiarity with basic QMS principles is desired. Interest in problem solving/solutions providing, supplier communications, and hands-on technical aptitude is a plus. Strong will and ability to learn new skills in a fast paced and rapidly developing environment is required. Positive attitude.
Training and Career Development Opportunities Available:
Metalcraft will provide documented training and/or hands-on experience in: Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control principles operating in an ISO9001:2015 environment. Inspection and assembly processes. Calibrated asset tooling control. Organizational and process development. Inspect using IM measurement machine and 3D jig printing program development using SolidWorks/FreeCAD. High-pressure fitting and testing. General documentation, data entry, supplier connections, and workflow review activities.
Pay:
$15.38 - $18.47 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
