Shift Qualifying Questions:
Are you a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance? Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role? Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary?
Summary:
Inspects in-process and completed products including electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, and subassemblies using predetermined methods, operations, and setups. Uses various measuring devices including dial indicators, micrometers, scales, and fixtures to verify conformance to specifications. Works from blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions, and checklists for inspection tasks. Performs hands-on inspection of electronic components, printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, fabricated mechanical parts, and electro-mechanical assemblies. Inspects cable harnesses, mechanical assemblies, and PCB assemblies for conformance to manufacturing processes and acceptance criteria. Applies knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, and
NASA-STD-8739.1
workmanship standards. Uses electro-mechanical hand-held inspection equipment, microscopes, and magnifiers for detailed inspection. Performs detailed in-process and final inspection activities for prototype and new product introduction builds. Assists in determining root cause and corrective action activities for quality issues. Understands and contributes to performance metric reporting for quality assurance.
Requirements:
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR). Associates Technology Degree with 5 years of Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineering experience, or 5 years of Aerospace or NASA Industry Quality inspection experience. Certification in relevant workmanship standards such as
IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620
with space addendum, J-STD-001 with space addendum, or
NASA-STD-8739.1.
Experience with hands-on inspection of electronic components, printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, fabricated mechanical parts, and electro-mechanical assemblies. Understanding of manufacturing processes and acceptance criteria for cable harnesses, mechanical assemblies, and PCB assemblies. Ability to understand and follow engineering and quality documentation, drawings and blueprints, process flow charts, manufacturing travelers, and work instructions. Experience using electro-mechanical hand-held inspection equipment, microscopes, and magnifiers. Experience working in a Manufacturing and Engineering Lab environment. Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
