Job Description
Quality Inspector 1st Shift Position Overview Responsible for ensuring that production, incoming material, finished goods, and outside service quality targets are met. Monitors production processes and work instructions to ensure customer requirements are met. Helps troubleshoot quality problems and work with the team to implement preventive or corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues. Recommends changes to improve overall plant quality. Essential Job Functions Supports production processes to help meet quality requirements. Strong experience with inspection equipment (height gages, calipers, micrometers) Helps implement change to improve quality. Recognizes and helps problem solve issues affecting product quality. Reports all incoming material discrepancies to management and completes all required documentation. Performs product and process audits and responds to non-conformances and non-compliances. Implements containment actions for non-conformances as required. Performs dimensional reports for customer PPAP submissions as needed Scans and records quality documents and inspection reports. Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word. Input data into ERP software Global Shop Solutions Helps perform hourly quality checks for production personnel Non-essential Job Functions Communication to shop personnel and Production Management Looks for cost savings ideas and implementation Requirements 2-4 years quality system in a production/manufacturing environment. Proficient in Production/Shop management software, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to give instruction and then follow through to insure success Read and interpret customer drawings and specifications. Demonstrate ability to use inspection equipment
