SALARY RANGE
The anticipated salary range for this role is $20.00 to $27.00 per hour. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment. SUMMARY Quality Inspector I performs basic receiving, in-process, and final visual and dimensional inspection of parts, materials, and assemblies to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions within an AS9100 certified aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. Working under close supervision, the incumbent documents inspection results, identifies and segregates nonconforming product, and supports the site quality management system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties. Perform receiving, in process, and final inspection of parts, materials, and assemblies against engineering drawings, purchase orders, specifications, and approved work instructions. Use basic measuring and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and go/no-go gauges to verify dimensional characteristics. Conduct visual inspection for workmanship, surface finish, identification and marking, and obvious defects in accordance with applicable acceptance criteria. Record inspection results accurately and legibly in inspection records, travelers, and the ERP or quality system. Identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming material and notify the lead or supervisor for disposition in accordance with the control of nonconforming output process. Verify that measuring equipment is within current calibration prior to use and report out-of-calibration or damaged equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD (foreign object debris) controlled work area and comply with ESD-handling requirements where applicable. Support first article and in-process inspection activities under the guidance of higher-level inspectors. Adhere to all quality, safety, ITAR/EAR, and environmental requirements applicable to the work area.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED. 0 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, inspection, or quality environment; aerospace or defense experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, work instructions, and inspection plans. Working knowledge of basic dimensional measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), with the ability to obtain internal inspection certification. Basic computer skills, including data entry into ERP or quality systems. Strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to follow documented procedures. Ability to obtain and maintain required internal AS9100 awareness and inspection certifications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in an AS9100 or
ISO 9001
certified manufacturing environment. Familiarity with foreign object debris (FOD) and ESD control (ANSI/ESD S20.20) practices. Exposure to first article inspection (FAI) and basic GD&T concepts.

EAR. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
