Job Description

Company Overview Partnered with a leading precision manufacturing organization supporting the aerospace, defense, space, and other high-performance industries. They specialize in advanced 5-axis CNC machining and producing complex, tight-tolerance components where quality and precision are critical. Key Responsibilities Operate portable CMM arms (Romer/Roamer Arm III, FARO, or similar) to inspect machined parts against engineering drawings and specifications. Create, edit, and execute inspection programs using PC-DMIS software. Perform first article inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements and generate FAI reports. Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional and specification compliance. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T callouts, and customer specifications. Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records. Identify, document, and report nonconformances. Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to dimensional or quality issues. Calibrate, maintain, and verify measurement equipment in accordance with established quality procedures. Collaborate with machinists, CNC programmers, engineers, and quality personnel to resolve dimensional and inspection issues. Ensure compliance with ITAR requirements and customer-specific quality standards. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating a portable CMM arm, such as Romer/Roamer, FARO, or similar equipment. Proficiency in PC-DMIS , including inspection programming and operation. Strong knowledge of GD&T in accordance with
ASME Y14.5
. Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills. Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports preferred. Previous aerospace or defense manufacturing quality experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with AS9100D and/or
ISO 9001
quality management systems is a plus. Proficiency using standard inspection and measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection documentation. Ability to identify dimensional discrepancies and effectively communicate quality issues. Must be able to obtain and maintain ITAR compliance , including U.S. Person status .
