Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to inspect automotive axles, splines, and related components to ensure parts meet customer specifications, dimensional requirements, and quality standards. The Quality Inspector will perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using a variety of measuring tools and inspection equipment. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to identify defects, and the ability to accurately document inspection results. The ideal candidate has experience in automotive manufacturing, machining, quality inspection, or production and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Inspect automotive axles, splines, and related components for quality and dimensional accuracy. Perform visual inspections for defects, damage, cracks, burrs, surface imperfections, and other abnormalities. Inspect spline teeth for proper condition, appearance, and dimensional requirements. Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, plug gauges, ring gauges, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment. Verify parts meet customer specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required. Identify defective or non-conforming parts and properly segregate them from acceptable product. Record inspection results accurately on inspection sheets, computer systems, or other quality documentation. Communicate quality issues to supervisors, quality personnel, and production employees. Assist with identifying recurring defects and production quality issues. Follow established inspection procedures and work instructions. Perform visual and dimensional checks at various stages of the manufacturing process. Ensure proper identification and traceability of inspected parts. Assist with containment activities when quality problems are identified. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection/work area. Follow all company safety rules, quality procedures, and PPE requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently use hands and fingers for inspection and measurement activities. Ability to repeatedly handle automotive components. Ability to lift and move parts/materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial conditions. Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses and safety footwear.
PPE REQUIREMENTS
Employees must provide their own steel toe boots or shoes. Metatarsal guards, hard hats, and ear protection will be provided to you.
