7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., plus mandatory overtime as needed. General Description This position is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process and finished goods for conformance to quality control standards. Principle Responsibilities Perform daily inspections on the plant floor including incoming, in-process, and final inspections. Determine acceptance or rejection of incoming raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods. Ensure quality procedures are understood and followed throughout the plant. Notify appropriate departments and personnel of product deficiencies to enable expeditious resolution of problem. Work with Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing to identify root cause, corrective action, and preventive procedures. Limited travel to vendors that are mostly in state to assess vendor quality processes and analyze specific quality issues. Be an effective team player. Interact and work cross-functionally with all MDI departments. Abide by all Company and government regulatory safety regulations. Exemplify a professional work demeanor, upholding the Company core values. All other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Work Experience Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others to foster a positive work environment. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to read and work from engineering prints. Proficient in metrology and the use of various inspection devices. Exceptional leadership skills to ensure employees follow quality procedures. Two years minimum in a decision-making position preferred. Education Associates Degree in a technical field preferred. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Knowledge of Lotus and Mac-Pac software preferred. Certificates & Licenses ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or willing to become certified. Physical Demands/Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be physically agile to move and inspect parts. The employee is frequently required to walk and is occasionally required to stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Ear protection is required where designated.
