Job Description
SAAB is seeking a Quality Inspector, Incoming Inspection to ensure the integrity of components used in advanced defense and security systems. In this onsite role, you will inspect incoming mechanical and electronic parts against engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications using gauges, micrometers, CMM, and other metrology tools. You will review supplier documentation, document nonconformances, support root cause analysis with quality and engineering teams, and maintain accurate records in our QMS. Working in Saab's innovative, mission-driven manufacturing environment, you'll help safeguard reliability, safety, and compliance for critical global defense applications. Responsibilities Inspect incoming mechanical and electronic components for conformity to specifications using gauges, calipers, CMM and other metrology tools Review supplier documentation, certificates of conformance, and material reports for accuracy and completeness Record, classify, and report nonconformances; support root cause analysis with quality and engineering teams Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical standards to determine inspection criteria Maintain accurate inspection records in quality systems (e.g., ERP/MRP, QMS databases) Collaborate with supply chain, production, and engineering to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence Follow Saab and regulatory quality procedures, safety standards, and defense/aerospace requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives, including SPC, 5 S, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) Required Skills Mechanical inspection Metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) CMM operation or programming Reading engineering drawings GD&T interpretation Use of ERP/MRP or QMS systems Nonconformance documentation Root cause analysis support MS Office or similar productivity tools Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100
