Job Description

Kent Quality Foods , a premier manufacturer of specialty meat products, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for our Hudsonville facility. We are a well-established business with almost seven decades of success, and even if you do not know our name, you will surely know our products. This role is a great fit for someone who is accountable, has strong time management and attention to detail, can build and maintain rapport with production staff, and enjoys being on their feet all day in a fast-paced environment. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will enforce all food safety policies and procedures, including GMP, SSOP, and HACCP programs. You will monitor production conditions, verify that products meet specifications, and stop production when food safety concerns arise or specifications are not being met. You will complete required documentation and Redzone checks, then communicate potential issues to management in a timely manner.
Qualified candidates will bring:
3 years of relevant experience in a regulated production or manufacturing environment. An understanding of HACCP. Certification preferred. Respect and adherence for all food safety policies and procedures. Experience using an ERP or Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, and other departments. Spanish language skills preferred. A strong work ethic; able to work independently. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work in a refrigerated production environment, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs., and use a variety of hand tools and equipment to perform duties. This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday, with shifts beginning at 5:45am and averaging 8-12 hours per day. Occasional Saturday work may be required based on facility needs. Starting pay rate of $18.50 per hour. Eligible for attendance bonus valued at $1 per hour and a year-end bonus.
