Job Title:
Compounding Technician Job Description The Compounding Lab Technician supports lab-scale compounding and processing trials for rubber, silicone, and thermoplastic materials. This role involves operating mixers, mills, extruders, and molding equipment while controlling process parameters to ensure consistent, high-quality results. The technician collaborates cross-functionally with Material Science, Analytical, and Testing teams to align on trial objectives and ensure timely sample readiness. Responsibilities Plan and prioritize compounding and processing trials. Operate and maintain mixers, mills, extruders, and molding equipment. Control process parameters to achieve high-quality results. Collaborate with Material Science, Analytical, and Testing teams. Maintain accurate documentation and traceability for all trials. Ensure data integrity in all lab activities. Manage raw material inventory, including receiving, labeling, storage, and tracking. Support 5S and safety initiatives. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Participate in smart lab/Industry 4.0 initiatives. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with compounding or processing materials (rubber, silicone, or thermoplastics). Experience operating lab or pilot-scale equipment such as mixers, mills, extruders, and molding equipment. Strong documentation skills with emphasis on traceability and data integrity. Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple lab trials. Experience working in a cross-functional environment. Understanding of safety protocols and 5S practices. Work Environment The role is based in a large and clean facility, offering exposure to digital tools and participation in smart lab/Industry 4.0 initiatives. Employees enjoy long-term growth opportunities in various directions and a lunch stipend available two days a week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
