Job Description

Summary:
Assists in performing a variety of quality studies and analyses and implements procedures to maintain and improve product quality. Follows established procedures and standards. Performs inspections of implants, tools, incoming castings and raw materials. Marks parts with proper identification codes. Responsible for performing inspection of finished products and properly maintaining equipment by performing the following duties. Performs all functions according to company policies and procedures. The job requires knowledge typically acquired through a high school education. Post-high school courses in quality control technology are desirable, e.g., fundamentals of quality control, introduction to probability and statistics, industrial print reading, geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, and metrology. At a minimum, satisfactory job performance requires up to 6 months of experience, including related job experience and/or the time required for orientation and training to reach proficiency. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reads and understands blueprints and/or work order information for specified materials and dimensions. Utilizes and maintains CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine). Establishes and maintains a system to inspect finished goods, ensuring accuracy. Recording and inspecting incoming shipments of materials Performs first article and final audit inspections. Documents all instances of rejected product or raw material problems in the daily production report. Documents appropriate information for quality inspection reports for each order. Creates and maintains current files for all quality-related correspondence. Reports any unusual discrepancies or problems promptly to management. Develops quality control criteria for all employees working in production. Trains co-workers in quality control concepts as requested. Performs necessary maintenance of equipment as needed.
