Job Description
Our team is looking for a proactive Quality Engineer to manage dimensional verification and overall quality assurance processes on the factory floor. You will play a key role in utilizing CMM technology, 3D scanning, and GD&T principles to resolve dimensional discrepancies during the manufacturing process. Core Responsibilities Develop and execute programs for CMM machinery Execute 3D scanning tasks and dimensional assessments Verify that produced parts align with established technical blueprints and requirements Analyze and apply GD&T standards alongside complex engineering schematics Evaluate inspection data to identify and address components falling outside of tolerance levels Resolve technical challenges related to measurement and inspection procedures Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify the root cause of quality deviations Contribute to the success of both new product launches and ongoing production quality initiatives Drive the implementation of corrective measures to reduce recurring product defects Ensure all necessary quality records are accurately completed and stored Provide support for addressing quality inquiries from our clients Required Qualifications Minimum of three years of professional experience in metrology, CMM inspection, or related manufacturing quality roles Proven capability in the programming and operation of CMM systems Background in 3D scanning technologies is highly desirable Comprehensive knowledge of GD&T standards Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings and blueprints Demonstrated success in diagnosing and fixing dimensional or production-related issues Knowledge of standard quality methodologies used in automotive or general manufacturing Willingness to work directly on the production floor to support operations Keen eye for detail and strong analytical problem-solving capabilities Desired Experience Background in high-volume production or the automotive sector Exposure to stamping, welding, machining, or fabrication processes Proficiency with metrology software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, PolyWorks, or Geomagic Familiarity with core quality tools like PPAP, APQP, MSA, and Gage R&R Technical or engineering degree, though equivalent hands-on expertise is welcome Candidates should demonstrate expertise in the following areas: Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology Automotive Manufacturing Systems Aerospace Manufacturing Experience in a Manufacturing Environment PPAP Process Experience Gage R&R You will utilize the following tools and technologies: CAD Software ERP Software Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) CAM Software Quality Control Software Vision System
